Good afternoon, lovelies!

I'm in search of white swimwear, as I think it looks lovely on me. Any suggestions on options, as Google isn't helping me much? I promise to model and review my fabulous purchase for you all once it's in my hands!

I'm 5'3, 260 lbs. Size 20-22-24 depending on the cut. Hourglass. D cup (so I'm fond of either excellent built in bras or halters).

Thank you!

Didn't sleep much if at all on the flight over (I don't think this was simply because of the piercingly chilly draught).

Made it home in relatively reasonable time - huge but fastmoving taxi queue in an entirely new place at Paddington Station.

Unpacked and transferred Stuff from my travel handbag to my quotidien handbag.

Did two loads of washing.

Made bread (the part-loaf in the breadbin was doing its Alexander Fleming tribute).

Mumbled at someone ringing up about the gas servicing deal.

Am about to have an aromatherapy bath and go to bed.

Driven by Eve Silver is now available for Kindle. This is the futuristic dystopic arctic truckers book. Which you should read because there aren't many books about arctic truckers in general.

Seriously, this kind of viewpoint exasperates me, and even more so when it's a woman saying it:

I question the existence of a "male-dominated corporate elite", yet should it be real, I don't believe top-down EU quotas are the best way to counter it....
[A] generation of women may well end up on boards as window-dressing rather than on the basis of merit.

Oh, come on - all the men on all boards have something to bring to the table apart from being a bloke? Give me leave to doubt. Wails and moans over tokenism tend not to factor in the tokenism that previously operated in favour of Dead White Males. There is No Damned Merit about it.

Plus, I think history shows that when you actually put women in certain positions (e.g. as queen regnant, HAI, EIR), or offer them specific opportunities, as in wartime, given the chance and expected to get on with it, they do pretty well.

Evidence! I wasn’t the first person to think stableboys are hot. ETA: Though it has been pointed out to me that the stableboy looks like a black man…which makes the term “boy” racist, and much squickier. ETA2: and Martha Wells has found a source on the book – Beacon Books, 1954, and it is listed as “inter-racial” romance. Fascinating.

I lifted weights last night and decided it was time to try moving up to a little more weight, once again. I kept the same 20 pounds for my bench press - I haven't been able to sustain an advance - but went up to 30 pounds for my deadlifts, and still managed to do 3 sets of 15. Then I tried 100 pounds on squats but could only manage two sets of 15. I probably should have gone up in a smaller increment (I think I was at 70 pounds before) but I was curious.

I've also started to try using the lat pulldown machine while standing, which I read uses more muscles. Not sure I'm convinced of that yet.

I finished up with 20 minutes on the elliptical; I think I would have been okay with more, but the air conditioning was not really adequate on that floor, and I was really hot and uncomfortable.

Later today I will discover if I have broken myself once again and won't be able to lift again until next week.

I put together my first group show. It's just now going up on the walls for the opening this Friday. Each artist did 2-5 works for this show so this post won't give you the whole experience by a long shot, but it's a taste anyway. It will hang for two more months, along with Jennifer Romita's show, so maybe I will get the whole thing online at some point.

(The press page link is here if anyone wants to write/blog/share about it.)

Enjoy.

garner narrative continues with Jennifer Romita's digital triptych,
"Three Ages of Contemporary Female Fertility" (through July 28).

garner narrative opens a companion group show, now what were you expecting, with works by six artists on the themes of gestation, generativity, and the creative human condition.
